Nuance has announced that its Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search apps for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad have now been made available for free in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Apple App Store, and feature support for the Standard Arabic language.
“Following an incredibly successful launch in Saudi Arabia, we are thrilled to make Dragon Dictation and Dragon Search available in the UAE as part of our growth strategy for the Middle East,” said Anil Kumar, Regional Director, Nuance Middle East and Balkans. “The UAE also marks the 30th country where the apps are available, further showcasing global demand for voice-enabled mobile interfaces.”
The Dragon Dictation application is iOS-5 compatible and offers a pop-up toolbar with app icons which allow users to easily send dictated text to SMS, email, the clipboard or Facebook and Twitter. Dragon Dictation includes an Auto Save function retaining dictated text if the user is interrupted by a phone call.
Dragon Search allows users to speak their search query to find information and answers on the mobile Web. The product delivers Nuance’s Dragon Search Carousel that delivers smarter search results across various channels including Google, Yahoo!, Twitter, iTunes, Wikipedia and YouTube.
