U.S. Cellular Announces New Voice Mail to Text Service

U.S. Cellular has announced a new Voice Mail to Text service, powered by Nuance’s fully-automated Dragon Voicemail-to-Text platform.

The new service allows its subscribers to read their voice messages as text messages or emails on their mobile phones.

Voice Mail to Text uses vice recognition technology to let users check their voicemail without the regular retrieval steps and without the need to listen to and skip unimportant voicemail messages. Users are able to respond to voice mail easily via text or email. In additionally, Voice Mail to Text makes it easy to search voice mails and also offers the ability to listen to the original audio.

“Our customers are busy and always on the go, and want to stay connected to their friends and family,” said Jennifer Micek, senior director of the product group for U.S. Cellular. “With our new Voice Mail to Text service, our customers can get more done quickly and get back to what’s most important to them.”

Nuance’s Dragon Voice recognition technology is used in Nuance’s Dragon Mobile apps and Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

U.S. Cellular’s Voice Mail to Text is free to subscribers as a 30-day trial. Afterwards, the service costs $2.99 per month, and is also available as a vertical feature on all price plans.
