I.R.I.S. has announced a new product, the smartpen IRISNotes for Smartphones. IRISNotes sends handwritten notes from paper into BlackBerry or Android via Bluetooth.

This enables users to share notes and sketches via email, or convert them into digital text on the computer.

With IRISNotes, hand movements get transmitted to a receiver that is clipped to a sheet of paper via a battery powered pen. The notes are after that sent to the Smartphone via Bluetooth and can be shared with contacts. The pictures taken with the Smartphone can be annotated before sharing or storing.

The receiver can store up to one hundred pages of text. It can be connected to a computer via Bluetooth. Then the Optical Character Recognition software transform the notes into electronic text. IRISNotes archives handwritten text and processes the notes, exporting them to Microsoft Word or Outlook.
