ABBYY has announced the latest release of electronic dictionaries for U.S.-based consumers, ABBYY Lingvo x3.  The product combines reliable content with comprehensive word look-up software.

ABBYY worked together with one of the leading dictionary publishers, Oxford University Press. Lingvo x3 provides word translations from and to English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Italian, and German.
ABBYY Lingvo allows quick word look-up without interrupting the user's workflow. The software features "instant" translation via a Pop-up dialogue as well as advanced full-text search. Users can see the translations in a pop¬up dialogue while working in other applications such as MSWord or a Web browser. Lingvo x3 also provides a toolbar link to Wikipedia as well as other Internet searches which allows users to find additional information for the foreign words and see various examples of their usage. ABBYY Lingvo x3 also provides audio pronunciations recorded by native speakers.
"Today, all of us are part of a growing global community and it is becoming more and more crucial that people have the ability to communicate across a variety of languages, whether for business, education or with personal friends," said Dean Tang, CEO of ABBYY USA. "ABBYY Lingvo x3 makes communications easier by giving users access to native translations of languages through the most intuitive and customizable software possible.
