ABBYY announced a new software solution for batch document scanning. ABBYY Scan Station is now available in the CIS countries and Eastern Europe. The new solution allows quick scanning and export of hundreds of pages and provides useful tools for improving the quality of the scanned images. With its help, large document archives can be captured and digitized, and small amounts of documents can be scanned using a standard workgroup scanner. Organizations with regional offices can deploy a distributed document capture system by installing ABBYY Scan Station in different locations, with centralized document processing and storage. ABBYY Scan Station supports most of the scanners with TWAIN, ISIS and WIA interfaces.

ABBYY Scan Station is easy to work with even for people who are not experienced in document scanning. It features scanning technology used in other ABBYY products such as ABBYY FineReader, ABBYY FormReader, and ABBYY FlexiCapture. It supports batch conversion and provides a wide range of tools for image correction.

“More and more companies are moving to paperless environment to streamline document processing and business operations”, said Aram Pakhchanian, Director of Data Capture Products Department at ABBYY. “The first step in this process is to organize fast and convenient document scanning. We believe that ABBYY Scan Station, which is highly productive yet very simple to use, will help even small companies take this step easily”.
