ABBYY has announced FineReader Engine 2.0 for Embedded OS, a new SDK that delivers document classification and conversion to Multifunction Peripherals (MFP).

The product delivers recognition capabilities and can auto name and classify files. The SDK also features PDF MRC conversion and recognition of business cards to enable developers to create devices with less complexity and at reduced costs for MFP vendors.

FineReader Engine 2.0 for Embedded OS includes recognition capabilities for business card recognition, document classification, and file name generation. The product enables software developers to create solutions for document processing with new functions. Now, multifunction peripherals can provide new services, such as automatic creation of file names, extraction of data from a scan of multiple business cards, and others. The new SDK features support for more than 60 languages.

“The global market is changing, as end users look for easier ways to conduct numerous functions from a single device. This has led MFP vendors to seek technologies that can expand their solutions’ capabilities, to ensure they remain the center of the document ecosystem,” said Andrey Isaev, director of the Technology Products Department at ABBYY. “FineReader Engine 2.0 for Embedded OS delivers intelligent, trainable classification and conversion to MFP vendors, increasing the range and quality of services they can offer.”

FineReader Engine 2.0 for Embedded OS is adapted for common CPU types: x86 (Atom, Core 2, etc.), PowerPC, ARM, and embedded operating systems such as Windows for x86 processors, Linux, Android, VxWorks, NetBSD, and more.
