Accusoft Pegasus, provider of imaging software development kits (SDKs), will demonstrate at the AIIM Expo an iPhone web application for document viewing, which is built with the ImageGear software development kit (SDK).

With ImageGear v17, businesses which have web access to documents will be able to expand access to information so that documents can be viewed anywhere.
The application demonstrates that ImageGear software development kit can be used with JavaScript and CSS animations in order to build a web application for use on the iPad, Apple iPhone, and iPod Touch. ImageGear brings ASP.NET technology which is required for mobile devices to view and navigate documents from ECM (Enterprise Content Management) systems.
The major focus of the application is to provide portable access to documents which are stored on a server. The app specifically targets the Safari browser for viewing of PDF, TIFF, and JPEG files. Some of its features are: zoom, paging, thumbnails, pan, rotation, annotation viewing, access to file information, as well as a magnifying glass. The features can be activated with iPhone gestures such as flick, tap, pinch, touch-and-hold. The file information includes resolution, file type, file size, and compression type.
“More and more people have web browsers in their possession at all times. Projections are that half of all page views will be viewed from portable devices, rather than desktop PCs, within five years,” says Paul Firth, product manager at Accusoft Pegasus. “We deliver technology to our customers today that accelerates development and enables companies to extend access to business documents onto mobile devices.”
