ABBYY, the provider of document recognition, data capture, and linguistic technologies and services, has been awarded with a Software Licensing Supply Arrangement (SLSA) by Public Works and Government Services Canada.

ABBYY's FineReader, FlexiCapture and Recognition Server have been pre-qualified for use by all Government of Canada Federal departments and agencies.

"Government departments and agencies are being pushed to meet growing service requirements while revenue inflows are shrinking. Without a better way of managing information and data, this quickly becomes a losing battle," said Dean Tang, CEO at ABBYY USA. "Our solutions help Government of Canada departments and agencies capture, translate and transform data into useful, digital information, enabling them to eliminate outdated manual paper and workflow operations while reducing overall costs. Being awarded the SLSA by Public Works and Government Services Canada validates ABBYY's growing leadership position in the country, and shows confidence in our ability to meet their document recognition and data capture needs."

The SLSA program provides Government of Canada Federal agencies with pre-qualified technologies in software and shared systems categories. ABBYY’s OCR and data capture products have now completed the first phase, and are listed in the SLSA Catalogue, under the Document Scanning and Image Recognition Software category.

FineReader converts scans, PDF documents and digital photographs into searchable and editable computer formats, eliminating manual data entry and reformatting. ABBYY Recognition Server is designed to automate document capture and conversion processes through a server-based OCR solution. FlexiCapture provides a single entry point to transform different forms and documents with either structured or unstructured data into digital, business-ready data. ABBYY’s solutions recognize more than 190 languages.
