ABBYY has completed a fund-raising campaign benefitting the online resource LINGUIST List. The LINGUIST List, currently the world's largest online linguistic resource, provides information on linguistics, language and language analysis.
“ABBYY is already making wonderful contributions in the field of computational linguistics with its great products, and to the wider field of linguistics with the training and experience that students who work for you get, and your sponsorship of fine events both large and small. Your support of LINGUIST is another very nice way of supporting the field. I know that your contribution means a great deal to the people who run LINGUIST List — not only for the money itself, which helps a great deal, but also because of the support it shows for LINGUIST List from the international community,” said Barbara Party, a linguist and participant in the Dialog Conference, a Russian conference on computational linguistics. With its donation, ABBYY has significantly changed the geographical map of the LINGUIST List’s supporters, and this is especially noteworthy due to the world’s economical situation. Russia has become the fourth major sponsor in Europe, and ABBYY is the second key supporter in Europe and the seventh in the world.
